THE PRICE OF GLORY

It is generally agreed that to obtain anything of value one pays a fair price. But what about health, peace, and happiness, the glory of salvation? Is there a price for these? Is this not the very essence of man's divine heritage? There is of course no price in terms of money, no transfer of goods from one to another. But to be able to claim and enjoy this heritage, one finds that something is required of him.

The demand is twofold: first, the giving up of ungodlike thoughts and false beliefs, which encumber progress and cloud one's view; and secondly, a willing and persistent expenditure of energy and thought in a search for a higher understanding of God and man and for an ability to make practical application of this understanding.
