I offer this testimony of God's...
I offer this testimony of God's goodness with the desire that it may give courage and hope to another.
There was a period in my life when I felt only frustration and despair. Wrong appeared to be dominant, and the future looked hopeless. Years before, a sister had lovingly introduced me to Christian Science, but many years had passed since I had even thought of God.
During this period of darkness, my only child became ill with a fever. When he grew no better after two days, the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was taken from the shelf and opened. My eyes fell upon the statement (p. 414), "Keep in mind the verity of being,—that man isthe image and likeness of God, in whom all being is painless and permanent." When I read this, the word "permanent" filled my consciousness, and I wholeheartedly accepted the statement.
