My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science was in 1944 when my difficulty was medically diagnosed as a fibroid growth and two doctors advised an immediate operation. A dear friend talked to me of Christian Science one evening. I had been mailed a copy of a Sentinel two years before, but my thought was not then ready for the truth.

Man's extremity proved to be God's opportunity, for I visited a Christian Science practitioner on the following day and learned things of God that were enlightening to me. The revelation of God as Principle instead of person gave me a new and joyous outlook, and in two weeks I returned to my employment completely healed.

In 1946, through my own study of Christian Science, I was healed of warts, which appeared on both my hands. They had troubled me for a number of years and were spreading. It was unfolded to me that they were the manifestation of wrong thoughts; and as I examined my thinking, I found I was harboring quite a lot of thoughts that were unlike good.
