Gratitude for Christian Science...

Gratitude for Christian Science is a primary feeling in my life, and after many years of study and application, Science fills it quite completely. I was attracted to this truth because it presents the way to understand the power of God, Love, divine Principle, who governs the universe and man.

I read Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy on the recommendation of a friend. Several months later my husband was stricken with influenza at the time of an epidemic of that disease. A Christian Science practitioner was called for the first time, and my husband was restored to complete health within hours.

The practitioner's work was so effective that not only was my husband healed, but our small daughter and I experienced such spiritual buoyancy that we lived in a heaven of harmony for two weeks. This state might be likened to that described in Science and Health (p. 598): "One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity."
