"We cannot deny that Life is...

"We cannot deny that Life is self-sustained, and we should never deny the everlasting harmony of Soul, simply because, to the mortal senses, there is seeming discord. It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony." This passage from page 390 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was proved true in a healing I had in Christian Science.

One day I became very ill. There was every indication that it was a condition of food poisoning. My thought turned quickly to God, Life, Truth, and Love. Then I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner to ask for help.

I was told to study the ninety-first Psalm and to hold to these passages from Science and Health (p. 427): "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual," and (p. 538), "Truth is a two-edged sword, guarding and guiding." I found relief and was able to rest after the practitioner's treatment, and there was a sense of resuscitating life.
