DO IT NOW!

Every gardener knows the importance of weeding his garden regularly so that the weeds will not choke the tender plants from which he expects to derive pleasure and fruitage. "Do it now!" is a good thought for guidance of the agriculturist and, in fact, for anyone who wishes to make his life a success.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 12): "This was an emphatic rule of St. Paul: 'Behold, now is the accepted time.' A lost opportunity is the greatest of losses. Whittier mourned it as what 'might have been.' We own no past, no future, we possess only now. If the reliable now is carelessly lost in speaking or in acting, it comes not back again."

In Christian Science we learn that since man is the son of God, the opportunity to know and do God's will is always at hand. The man of God's creating is constantly about the Father's business and is rejoicing in unlimited opportunities to glorify Him in righteous activity. The Christian Scientist who recognizes these facts and eagerly desires to do God's will finds numerous ways to fulfill divine purpose and to say and do the right thing at the right time.
