"I SHALL BE SATISFIED"

Many in the world today are seeking satisfaction—a more satisfying job, perhaps, a satisfactory home, companionship, or income, a more satisfying way of life.

What is it that brings satisfaction? Some of the advertisements of the day would have us believe that satisfaction is to be found in matter—in a cigarette, a drink, a health remedy, or physical activity. Shakespeare wrote, "He is well paid that is well satisfied." Popular belief argues that satisfaction comes from the achievement of great material wealth, fame, or popularity. But none of these guarantee any lasting satisfaction. In some cases, even, they may lead to dissatisfaction and unhappiness.

What, then, is the real basis of satisfaction? Where is it found? How may it be obtained? And once gained, how may it be retained— kept forever? Christian Science clearly reveals the answers to all these questions, and it has Scriptural authority for so doing. The Bible declares (Ps. 17:15), "I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." Mary Baker Eddy states in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 358), "All men shall be satisfied when they 'awake in His likeness,' and they never should be until then."
