We have experienced many wonderful healings in our home through the study and application of Christian Science. Some of my first experiences were so outstanding that throughout the ensuing years I have been encouraged to rely solely on this Science.

One winter an epidemic of influenza was prevalent in the city where we were living. I awakened one morning feeling very ill with the symptoms of this disease. Our son was at that time of preschool age, very active and needing attention; so I could not remain in bed, but I rested on the sofa in the living room.

I was too ill to read, but one thought persistently presented itself to me. It was from the Bible (Luke 15:18), "I will arise and go to my father." To me, this meant that I could arise in consciousness and identify myself with Principle, God, with perfection.
