THE IMPORTANCE OF FIDELITY IN HEALING

"They which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham," asserted Paul in his letter to the Galatians (3:9). Abraham at God's bidding had willingly left his homeland and had gone into Canaan. As a reward for faithful obedience he became the father of many nations.

In order to be faithful to God's requirements, one must be godly— he must know and trust God and follow as He directs. One is not faithful to God's Word if, for example, knowing that God's requirement of him is purity, he continues in sin. If he is faithful to purity, he is naturally blessed as was faithful Abraham.

Christian Science affirms that God is supreme Principle, or Mind, and that man is the healthful, harmonious idea of God. The perfect status of man as God's spiritual reflection must be persistently affirmed. But more than an affirmation of the truth is required of the one needing help. He must live consistently with his affirmations of the truth.
