Too often the church and Christians have forgotten that Jesus had a religious life of his own. ... The question that needs to be raised is this: "What was there in Jesus in the way of faith and a personal relationship to God which served to undergird his life, his thought and decisions?"

What we should do is see Jesus as the living person, praying, believing, trusting, finding in God a source of personal help in order to meet the day at hand.
