ASCENDANCY INTO SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING

The stillness and beauty of the heavens as they are described by a research balloonist ascending to new and unexplored altitudes in space, above the diminishing physical views of earth and over black and threatening storms, awaken one's feeling of wonder and awe. Faith is lifted to a clearer sense of the freedom, peace, and harmony awaiting those who can rise above the evidence of material belief into the consciousness of spiritual being through the understanding of man's unity with God.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 258), "God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis."

Christian Science lifts one's thought to broader and more exalted views of Life and its manifestation. The testimony of the physical senses appears less real when thought, freed from its material moorings, is lifted Godward.
