"Emerson says, 'Hitch your wagon to a star.' I say, Be allied to the deific power, and all that is good will aid your journey, as the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. (Judges v. 20.)" Found in "Unity of Good" (p. 17), this arresting statement by Mary Baker Eddy is most helpful to the youthful thinker. Members of Christian Science organizations at colleges and universities are daily proving that an understanding of the power of divine Life, Truth, and Love, rather than misplaced faith in materiality, is the truly dependable aid in successful living.

An organization member at a New England college writes:

"I co-directed the first major college production of the year as part of my senior thesis in theater study. There was a cast of forty players, plus a backstage crew of almost that many people. The direction was divided between the drama professor and myself. There was much to be done in the way of casting, scheduling rehearsals, and directing. After some weeks I found myself slipping into a state of confusion. It became an endless circle of work and pressure telling me I did not have time for prayerful thought. My mental doors seemed open to all sorts of fears. Two weeks before opening night, the play was far from being ready. Finally I was awakened from mortal mind's subtle attempt to separate me from the source of right ideas, divine Mind, God. Following the rules of Christian Science (which I had neglected for a while), I gained a mental quietness which enabled me to listen to God's direction.
