In expressing gratitude for all that Christian Science has meant to me, I find that my thoughts return to the Sunday School. A teen-age friend invited me to attend with her, and since I had no church affiliation at that time, I accepted and continued to go with some degree of regularity. Now, many years later, it is my privilege to serve in the Sunday School of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I am grateful for the opportunity of working with young people, because we are learning together more about God.

There have been many healings in the years since I first learned of Christian Science. One of the outstanding early healings which I experienced was that of chronic appendicitis. Painful attacks occurred a number of times with varying intensity, and one came when my husband, and I were visiting with members of his family at a summer resort.

I became very ill and was unable to leave my bed. Much concern was expressed by the family, and I was lovingly advised to seek medical aid. I clung to my small understanding of Christian Science and rejected the the thought of allowing a doctor to be called. My husband sent a telegram to a Christian Science practitioner, asking for help, and my mother came to take me home. We were able to leave within two days, and by the time we arrived home I was well. This healing took place more than twenty years ago, and there has been no return of the difficulty.
