Fort Walton Beach, Florida (Society).

Christian Science Society, Fort Walton Beach, formally dedicated its church edifice Sunday morning, December 8th, at eleven o'clock, at which time a brief history of the society was read.

In the summer of 1946, a small group of Christian Scientists in the area obtained permission from the minister of the Methodist Church to hold services in their small office building on Main Street. This facility was soon outgrown, and other buildings were rented, as required, concluding with the Old Post Office Building, which was utilized from 1950 until 1956.

This society was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, November 23, 1953.

In August, 1954, the present site was acquired, and ground was broken for the edifice in November, 1956. The first meeting in the new edifice was held on Sunday, March 24, 1957.

Grateful acknowledgment is expressed for help from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy and the Selina C. Cornish Fund, as well as from members and friends.
