Their Healing Mission

The gracious promise of the Master's words, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matt. 5:6), is continually confirmed in the healing mission of our Christian Science Reading Rooms. These harbors of spiritual refreshment have been the means of acquainting thousands with the healing and redeeming message of Christian Science, discovered and given to the world by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

These rooms, free and open to the public, offer their services in several important ways. Among these are the following:

Well-arranged and thoughtfully planned window displays serve a useful purpose in presenting Christian Science to those who stop to read the open books and periodicals. One pausing before a Reading Room window will usually find as the focal point the books and periodical which provide the Christian Science Lesson-Sermon, read every Sunday in all Christian Science churches throughout the world. This display includes the Bible (the King James Version in English-speaking countries), "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the Christian Science Quarterly.
