LOVE, THE LIBERATOR

Are you seeking a solution or an answer to some problem? Are you striving to be at peace, to be liberated from fear, lack, sickness, or resentment? If so, it is well for you to begin by pondering the words of Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 225), "Love is the liberator."

God holds the answer to any problem and heals any condition that seems to perplex or harass the individual. Thus it is apparent that a demonstrable understanding of the meaning and application of Love is requisite.

The simple and direct command urged by Christ Jesus (Matt. 19: 19), "Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself," must be understood and obeyed. We must know ourselves as God knows us and be insistent upon maintaining our at-one-ment with Him before we can see and love our neighbors as ourselves. The earnest endeavor to love our neighbors reveals to us that we must first love God, understand Him as ever-present, infinite good, and acknowledge man to be His perfect reflection.
