RADIO PROGRAM No. 259 - A Healing of Nervous Breakdown

Speaker: How often we plunge into our daily activities with little or no thought as to where our intelligence and strength really come from. Our guest today, Harry W. Winsby, Jr., of University City, Missouri, reached a point where he just had to learn to drop a wrong sense of responsibility and turn humbly to God for guidance and strength. We'd like to hear about it, Mr. Winsby.

Mr. Winsby: Several years ago my partner passed away, and I was forced to take over the complete running of our typesetting business myself. My partner had run the plant, and I had been the outside man. I decided it was now up to me to take over the whole thing, doing the estimating, billing, proofreading, and the other things my partner had always done, plus calling on customers.

I had a great sense of personal responsibility—hiring and firing people and meeting job commitments on time. There was some turmoil in settling my partner's affairs, and I felt the whole situation resting right on my shoulders. Then I suffered a nervous and physical breakdown.
