"POWER WITH UNTOLD FURTHERANCE"

"Spiritual love makes man conscious that God is his Father, and the consciousness of God as Love gives man power with untold furtherance." So writes Mary Baker Eddy on pages 8 and 9 of her Message to The Mother Church for 1902.

Many sayings of Christ Jesus point to his unvarying alliance with God, his ceaseless recognition of relationship as the Son of the Father, his identification with the divine. Only as men become conscious of divine Love and of man's unity with God and identify themselves with their heavenly Father do the dangers and difficulties of daily experience lose the capacity to involve, to intimidate, to deceive.

In our efforts to become Godlike, to free ourselves or others from illusion and so attain at-one-ment with the Father as His reflection, let us ask ourselves: "Of what are we conscious? Where does consciousness dwell? Is it acquainting itself hourly with divine Principle? Is it conscious of spiritual love? Does it abide continually in the Son and in the Father?"
