Christian Science came to our family many years ago, when my grandmother, after having been bedridden for over a year, was instantaneously healed of rheumatism pronounced incurable by noted physicians. About a week after the healing, she was able to make a boat trip to South America.

Our family has had many proofs of God's care. Among other healings, broken bones have been set by mental surgery alone, and a defective tooth was restored to full use.

"Honesty is spiritual power. Dishonesty is human weakness, which forfeits divine help." This statement, found on page 453 of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, was of great help and proved to be true in the following incident.
