Through Christian Science I was brought out of a wilderness of doubt, fear, sickness, and sin into a life of peace and joy, desiring to know and to serve God. Because Science has brought so many blessings into my life, I feel I must express my gratitude through the periodicals that it may help others as it has me.

When I found Christian Science, I was without hope or faith, and I was suffering from pneumonia, heart trouble, and failing eyesight. I had lost so much weight that I was only a shadow of my former self, and the doctors had given me but two months to live.

One night I prayed the whole night through, in the only way I had been taught in an orthodox church to pray, begging God to spare my life, if that should be His will, or if not, then to remove my fear and let me resign myself to die. The next day I threw all my medicine away. I knew what I was going to do.
