GOD'S LAW MUST BE WRITTEN IN OUR HEARTS

The new covenant which God made with the "house of Israel," as recorded in Jeremiah, is especially significant and assuring to those sincerely seeking an understanding of divine law. We find the prophet voicing God's promise (31:33), "I will put my law in their inward parts, and will write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

A generally accepted definition of "law" is "a rule of ... conduct ... formally recognized as binding." As given to Moses on Mt. Sinai, when he received the Ten Commandments, the moral law was accepted as the revealed will of God for His people and became the basic source of Jewish law.

God's law is the almighty spiritual force which supersedes all so-called laws. God, the Lawgiver of all good, is infinite Mind, Life, Truth, and Love. His law is the changeless fact of wisdom and righteousness. The supremacy of this omnipresent and omnipotent law has been and is being proved in innumerable instances. Multitudes can and do bear witness to the joyous freedom experienced when God's law as understood in Christian Science is utilized.
