PREDESTINED FOR GLORY

There is no doubt that man is predestined to fulfill God's eternal purpose for him, for God created man to manifest His power, to express the nature of God. In Romans we read (8:28, 30): "We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ... Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

The requirement, then, is that we love and obey God, good, and the reward for this obedience is the manifestation of good without measure in our experience. Christian Science reveals this truth and thus enables each individual to begin to know his true self and his real capabilities as God created them.

We are told in Genesis (2:1) that God's work is done, that it is complete. But one understands this only as he is willing to relinquish false, human planning, which outlines its own self-determined way, and to yield to God's plan for His beloved child. Christ Jesus said (John 5:19), "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."
