"Miracle" is defined by our beloved...

"Miracle" is defined by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 591 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as "that which is divinely natural, but must be learned humanly; a phenomenon of Science." The following experience was to my sense such an event.

Toward the end of World War II, my son was scheduled to fly overseas in a bombing squadron. At his request, since he could not come home, I went to the air base where he was stationed. My constant prayer was that he would not have to destroy or be destroyed. Holding to the truth that in reality man has no enemy, I asked my son if he really could accept this fact. To my great relief and joy, he gave a thoughtful assent.

About two weeks after their arrival in England, the crew, of which he was a member, was transferred to a weather reconnaissance outfit, and instead of flying over enemy territory, they flew in the opposite direction. Severe storms were encountered, but no enemy; and they all eventually came home, safe.
