OUR TRUE SECURITY

[Original in German]

Everywhere one finds a longing for security. In their desire to protect their little ones from so-called children's diseases, parents leave nothing untried in their search for a sure remedy. Other individuals seek earnestly for ways and means to cope with the so-called critical years of middle age, with their depressing phenomena, and another group seeks ways of combating the dreaded symptoms of old age. The amount of consideration so far given to finding ways to remedy these ills has not brought security and satisfaction to mankind.

Yet all these anxious and fearful individuals can find an answer to their hopes and efforts in the words of the Bible, where we read (Jer. 6:16), "Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." Christian Science, or the Christ, Truth, shows mankind this "good way" and gives to the consciousness struggling unremittingly for rest and peace the security for which it longs.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 232), "Security for the claims of harmonious and eternal being is found only in divine Science."
