I should like to express my gratitude for the understanding of God and the many blessings that have come to me and my family through the study and application of Christian Science.

My younger brother and I began attending the Christian Science Sunday School when I was about nine years old. On the way to the church, there was a spot where a sidewalk elevator was located, and whenever I crossed this place, I became fearful that the elevator would rise when I was on that spot. Finally, I recall, on one Sunday I repeated the reference that my Sunday School teacher had given me (Matt. 16:23), "Get thee behind me, Satan." This dispelled the fear, and I walked joyously over the spot each week thereafter. This is a small example of what Christian Science does for us in overcoming senseless fear, and I am most grateful for it.

During this same period, I awoke one morning with the measles. My mother called a practitioner, and she came to our home. The practitioner asked me to repeat the Lord's Prayer with her, and we talked of God. The next day I was up, completely normal.
