Through the study of Christian Science, for more than nine years I have been experiencing good health and a growing understanding of the love of God with its resultant peace and joy. This is in contrast to former years, because I grew up with a sense of fear and insecurity which increased until I was faced with ill-health and unhappiness. I was unable to work for quite a number of years because of physical weakness, extreme nervous exhaustion, and colitis. I underwent several operations and tried many diets and physical exercise in my search for health, all to no avail.

After wears years of such searching I felt almost ready to give up. At this time an advertisement in a local newspaper attracted my attention. It advertised "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Thus, when I came across a copy of this textbook in a public library and read a few pages, I decided then and there to look into this religion that promised healing.

During the reading of Science and Health I became fully convinced that here was the answer to my search and that this wonderful religion was the one for me because it teaches that perfect man must be the effect of one perfect God who reigns supreme. I began to visit a Christian Science Reading Room and to attend the services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
