A VISION

Turn from the valley dark,
And you shall see—heights
Glorious with immortal majesty.
Mountains far-reaching,
Range succeeding range,
Clear as the crystal dewdrop
On the rose.
Nothing imperfect, nothing dim or strange,
But Science in holy light
To earth unknown.
The sun shall darkened be
At that glad hour.
The moon withdraw her light
And claim no power.
The earth dissolve
Like clouds that roll away.
This is the light of Spirit,
This God's day.
And with this vision
Men shall cast aside
Their own ineptitude.
Then shall appear
The bridegroom and the bride
Revealing man's immortal destiny.
