OUR PLACE IS PREPARED

Christ Jesus said to his disciples (John 14:2): "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." Jesus obviously did not mean any specific geographical location, some town or country where the kingdom of God might be established. Nor was he referring to a certain place in the sense of some house or some position in human society.

The dictionaries give a number of meanings for the word "place." One of these, as used in arithmetic, is "the position of a figure in a series, as in decimal notation."

In the science of mathematics, digits have their definite places just as notes have their places in the science and harmony of music. At any time, at any location, each digit and note takes its own place and has its own particular value that no other can take or fill.
