For over forty-one years I have been a student of Christian Science, and I can truly testify to its healing efficacy. I have three children who have been protected, guided, and healed through this Science. Of the many healings that I have had, one stands out particularly. I had a distressing wart on the ball of my foot. A chiropodist told me it would be a long and very painful operation to remove it. Then I realized that because I was a student of Christian Science, I should be relying wholly on God. I at once began having Christian Science treatment, but my progress was slow.

One night as I got into bed I asked myself, "Which do you want most, to love your neighbor as yourself, or to get rid of this pain in your foot?" I instantly replied, "To love my neighbor." With my thinking thus freed from thoughts about myself, I went to sleep. When I awakened the next morning the growth had disappeared, and I was completely healed. This proved to me that matter had nothing to do with the healing. It was all mental. I had been so busy trying to get rid of the pain instead of lifting my thought to the omnipresence, and omniscience of God that I had delayed the healing.

In 1944 I had a bad fall in my home. I at once called a practitioner for help through prayer. Almost immediately I was freed from fear and pain, but I found it difficult to walk. My husband, who was not a Christian Scientist, insisted that I call a doctor. X rays showed an impacted fracture of the hipbone, and I was given the choice of being placed in a cast for an indefinite time or of undergoing a pin operation.
