A MATCHLESS OPPORTUNITY

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

A GROUP of young men and women, members of the Christian Science organization at a college, were relating their experiences in Christian Science at their regular weekly meeting. One girl, however, had remained silent, deep in thought. As she glanced about the room filled with friendly fellow students, she realized how free and comfortable she felt in the presence of other young people. She recalled her not-so-happy high school days with school events and social functions that had left her feeling alone and excluded because of the sensitiveness and shyness that had troubled her.

Her gratitude stirred the girl into sharing her own demonstration with the college group, so she began: "I am particularly grateful for the Christian Science Sunday School. To attend it is an opportunity of unusual value. I know this, for through the teaching received at Sunday School, I was enabled to find myself."

The others listened intently as the girl told of her experiences at high school and of how, like any other teen-ager, she had desired normal good times and companionship. Though she had longed to be accepted in the high school crowd of her choice, she was held back by fear and self-consciousness. In her junior year Christian Science was introduced to her. For some time she had been reaching out for a practical religion, and Science appeared to be her answer. Then because of her eagerness to learn all she could of it she enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School.
