My thanks for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science should have been given long ago. My first healing was that of a serious infection in the bowels. A physician had been called, but there was no improvement.

On the morning of the fifth day of this condition, I asked the friends with whom I lived to help me dress, because I wanted to go to see a woman whom I had heard referred to as a Christian Science healer. When I arrived at her home, she asked me to read from a book entitled "Unity of Good" by Mary Baker Eddy while she gave me a Christian Science treatment. Then she told me not to tell anyone what had been done for me that day and also said that I could return to my work.

As I left her home I realized that I was much better, and I said to myself, "Oh, there is a God, for I am better." With that, all discordant evidence disappeared, and I returned to my work perfectly well. The healing was permanent.
