Twenty years ago, upon the recommendation of a relative, I began the study of Chrisitan Science and called upon the nearest practitioner. I shall always be grateful to this relative for her kindly help. Soon after I began this study, I memorized the ninety-first Psalm, realizing its importance and ever-availability.

During the first winter of my study of Science, my husband suffered a severe attack of influenza, and a few days later I found myself developing the same symptoms. I realized that this was my opportunity to prove the healing power of Christian Science; so I spent the afternoon studying our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As there was no apparent improvement, I retired early, repeating to myself the ninety-first Psalm and pondering each sentence until I came to these words (verse 11): "He shall give his angels charge over thee."

Sometime in the night I awoke still thinking of the ninety-first Psalm. I realized that I had never before understood its meaning. While pondering it even more deeply, I again fell asleep. This was repeated several times during the night, and each time a different verse stood out clearly in thought.
