THE GRACE OF RECEPTIVITY

There is not a more gracious quality than receptivity to good. It indicates spiritual vision and a sincere appreciation of the allness of God, whom the Scriptures tell us is Love.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 323, 324): "Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear,—this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony."

The receptive thought is open to the revelation of one's true relationship to God as His idea. Complete self-surrender and unselfed love are forerunners of a receptivity which makes no reservations and is not stubborn.
