I wish to submit another testimony...

I wish to submit another testimony in gratitude for Christian Science and in the hope that my experience will help others. More than fifty years have elapsed since I wrote my first testimony for the Sentinel. At that time I was healed after I had been told that I would soon become totally blind. At the same time I was healed of tuberculosis. These healings have been permanent.

For a while I strayed from this beautiful truth that had set me free, but in time I came back because of a serious illness and also because of grief at the passing of a loved one. Things had become so confused that I was in the depths of despair and discouragement. I was filled with hatred and resentment, and finally I had a stroke. It was very painful for me to walk, and a doctor said that I would always limp. It was then that I again turned to God. I asked for Christian Science treatment from a practitioner, and it was lovingly given me.

One of the first things the practitioner repeated to me was a statement from Mary Baker Eddy's book "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (pp. 149, 150), "Remember, thou canstbe brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee." Through the work of the practitioner, I was once again set free. I was healed of grief and resentment, and I was able to walk normally.
