I have been helped so many times in working out problems by reading the testimonies in our periodicals that it is with a sincere desire to help someone else that I submit this testimony.

From time to time our family was visited by a relative who would arrive, unannounced, to make his home with us for an indefinite period. I came to resent his intrustion and domination so much that I could think of little else. I took up prayerful work, as we are taught to do in Christian Science, to protect our home from this intrusion. But this was not enough. I needed to be healed of the belief that an inconsiderate, dominating man ever existed. I had to learn that God did not make such a man.

One day I became ill and in a short time was quite helpless. I asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, which was faithfully given. Because I relied entirely upon Science, I did not know what the disease would have been called. This fact bothered me, for I felt that if we could only give it a name, we would know better how to work. But I had to learn that to give error a name would tend to give it a course of action controlled by supposititious medical beliefs. This situation, I saw, would not be a help but a hindrance.
