I have been a student of Christian Science for only a few years, but it has made a profound change in my daily living and in my goals and ambitions. I should like to relate the events that awakened me to the way of life with the hope that my experience may be helpful to someone else, and I should like also to put my feelings of gratitude to God into concrete form.

Several years ago I was pinned between two cars, and my right leg was crushed. I was taken to an emergency hospital, and then, with the dire predictions of the doctor ringing in my ears, to my home. My wife had been a Christian Scientist for many years, and our four children attended the Christian Science Sunday School. While I was not opposed to Science, some of it did not make sense to me, and so I had drifted along without any particular religious convictions.

Now, however, I was caught on the horns of a dilemma. I had no real faith in Christian Science to heal me, but if I went to materia medica I was afraid I might upset my children's religious training. However, I had to choose one path or the other. This was an important decision for me as well as for my family. My wife insisted that the selection was up to me and did not try to influence me in any way.
