After shopping in a large department...

After shopping in a large department store in the Northwest, I suddenly realized that the mink fur piece I wore around my neck was missing. Although it was almost closing time, I retraced my steps to several departments to inquire about the fur, but to no avail. My first thought was, How can I ever find it when it has no identification on it?

Then I reversed that thought by knowing that no loss can occur in Truth. God does not know of any loss; so His idea knows no loss. The real man, God's idea, is upright, guiltless, and law-abiding. Material sense is unknown to God.

With a sense of calmness, I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, and help was given at once. Nothing was said of the incident to anyone when I returned home that evening or while prayerful work was being done. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 368), "Deny the existence of matter, and you can destroy the belief in material conditions." This I endeavored to prove as I remained confident and trusting, knowing that God governs all.
