"JOYFUL WAKING"
"Your joy no man taketh from you." In this statement from John's Gospel (16:22), Christ Jesus sets forth the spiritual truth that joy is eternal and that nothing and no one can really destroy it. On the scientific basis that joy is eternal rests the demonstration of the ever-availability of joy in all we do in our daily lives.
If joy seems lacking and sorrows depress, the understanding of the ever-presence of spiritual joy can surely awaken in us new hopes and greater harmony. The Psalmist declared (Ps. 30:5), "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
Those who have glimpsed even in a measure the message that Christian Science has for mankind are mindful that material existence, with its sin, disease, and death, is a form of dream. In fact, students of this Science understand that the belief in the reality of material existence is a continuation of the deep sleep that befell Adam.
