Reconciliation is the happy ending to any story that begins with men turning backs of hatred on each other. The reunion of Jacob and Esau is an example of how, with God's help, men...can overcome the enmities that divide them into many warring camps.

Jacob sought to be reconciled to Esau at the insistence of God. "Return to the land of your birth," He said (Gen. 31:13, Rev. Stand. Ver.).... The man in whose heart God dwells cannot long remain angry with his brother. Since love for God and hate for man are irreconcilable, that which is of God shall prevail....
