DISEASE HAS NO IDENTITY

Christian Science teaches that health is a spiritual, eternal quality of God and belongs to man, God's perfect expression, by divine reflection. Health is infinite, invariable. It is unseen to the mortal senses, but it is clearly and constantly apparent to spiritual sense.

In God there is no disease; hence in man, made after His similitude, there is no disease. In health there is no quality of discord. Nothing can trespass on or adulterate spiritual health. Man is the perpetual beneficiary of God, who is the eternal All-in-all, the only cause, the only creator. Man's entire being— his strength, his wisdom, his love, his health—emanate from God, in whom man exists in ever-unfolding harmony.

Speaking of the nature of evil, Mary Baker Eddy declares in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 287), "Error is false, mortal belief; it is illusion, without spiritual identity or foundation, and it has no real existence."
