My expression of gratitude is long overdue. I was an invalid, confined to a wheel chair. Also, I was young and longed to walk again. Having been a religious child, I naturally turned to God for comfort. I found that comfort in the eleventh chapter of Mark (verse 24): "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

One morning I heard the doctor tell my mother that nothing more could be done for me because of an obstruction in one of my veins. Then I reached out to God as never before and held to the Bible promise quoted above.

That evening a friend brought from the public library a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. She had not read it, but she said, "It is about health, and that is what you need, isn't it?"
