My first healing through Christian Science...

My first healing through Christian Science was that of a throat condition which had given me more or less trouble for ten years. During the year previous to the healing I had been away from my work as a schoolteacher for nearly three months.

When my sister proposed that I have Christian Science treatment, I was hesitant about giving my consent to having a practitioner called. However, after some thought I decided I would have treatment, and the practitioner came to my home that evening. She talked to me for a while concerning God and read to me from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which she said were the textbooks of Christian Science. She left a copy of Science and Health for me to read.

The next morning I awoke perfectly healed, feeling peaceful and uplifted in thought. I had one desire uppermost: to learn of God, who could so completely wipe out the evidence of disease in so short a time and who could change my whole outlook on life.
