Many of us have the good intention of writing about our experiences and healings in Christian Science for publication in The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, or The Herald of Christian Science (in its various editions); then we either forget to do so or allow time to elapse until the inspiration is lost. This testimony must not be delayed any longer than it has been.

When I was six years old, my mother was healed of a physical ailment through Christian Science after doctors had failed to effect a cure. At that time we lived in a small town, and the nearest Christian Science church was six miles away. Despite this distance, however. we children were enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School. In the years that have followed, our family of seven members has been healed of various physical ills and protected in numerous ways through the ministrations of Christian Science.

One experience that taught me the great value of this Science, when I applied practically what I had learned, was a quick healing of burns, sustained when a water heater exploded in my face. This healing, which occurred in 1932, imbued me with a greater sense of gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. We had purchased a special linoleum lacquer which we had been cautioned not to open or apply near a flame. Therefore, when the kitchen and service porch floors were painted, the water heater was turned off completely. Further to ensure a good drying job and protection from fire, we took advantage of the week end to go on a short trip away from home.
