In Psalms we read (107:19, 20): "They cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." This truth has proved both helpful and practical to me through many years of trials and experiences.

My first healing in Christian Science was that of tonsillitis, from which I suffered periodically as a youth. Previous to this healing, the school doctors had informed my parents that my tonsils would have to be removed because they were enlarged. This operation, however, was not performed. Instead, help was sought in Christian Science. The tonsils became normal, and there has never been a recurrence of tonsillitis.

Another healing for which I am most grateful was that of severe headaches, which had occurred from time to time. The last attack came about fifteen years ago and was the most severe of all. The pain was so intense that I could not think of a single truth. A member of the family called a Christian Science practitioner for help. In a few moments I was able to repeat "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Soon I fell asleep, and in a short time I awoke completely free. I have had no return of a headache since.
