It was through my little son that I came into Christian Science, and for this religion I shall always be grateful. Some friends had taken him to a Christian Science Sunday School, and not long afterward he took me to meet his teacher. I decided to go to a service at the Christian Science church, and that experience was the turning point of my life. I have been a student of this Science ever since.

One of my first healings was that of a bad temper, which had always troubled me. Since then I have been helped in many ways. At one time I suffered from a fibroid tumor, for which I had been advised to have a surgical operation. Instead, however, I decided to have treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. I entered a Christian Science House, and after three weeks the condition was completely healed. That was twenty-four years ago, and I have been in better health ever since.

The Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly have helped me at my work and throughout the day. One day, during the Second World War, I was cooking at a children's feeding center. All at once I felt led to cover up the food. This I did, and very soon there was an air raid. The roof was blown off, and all the windows were blown in. Everyone was calm, however, and I was able to feed all the children and staff. Our Leader's poem beginning (Poems by Mrs. Eddy, p. 4), "O gentle presence, peace and joy and power," filled my thought.
