TRULY IDENTIFYING MAN AND THE UNIVERSE

We truly identify man and the universe when we see them as Love's creation. Divine Love is infinite; therefore the harmonious universe, the reflection of Love, is everywhere. There is nothing in God's universe that is not useful, beautiful, and healthy. Right where ugliness and imperfection seem to be, in reality is the beautiful and harmonious universe.

One who knows the multiplication table could go into a schoolroom and see 2 X 2 = 5 written on the blackboard; he could know that in spite of this error, the truth is 2 X 2 = 4, and that only the truth is actual. Just as one's mathematical understanding tells one these facts, so spiritual sense tells one that in spite of the evidence of discord, the realm of harmony alone is present and real.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 516), "The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation; and when we subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere."
