It is now about thirty years since I started reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At that time I was not looking for physical healing but was troubled and unhappy. After reading our blessed textbook for some time, I started to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and became convinced that Christian Science was the only way for me. Since then I have honestly tried to be a true Christian Scientist.

Many have been the healings I have had during these years, some with the help of practitioners and some by the understanding I had gained in Science. The first healing I had was of bronchial asthma, which used to attack me regularly every winter. I would spend several days in bed worrying, for I thought. "I will surely lose my job, and then what will I do?" After some months of studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and attending the church services, I realized that I was healed. Oh, the blessed relief! I was so grateful that I at once sought membership in the branch church and later had the privilege of joining The Mother Church.

I have been healed of rheumatism, colds, influenza, indigestion, and the results of accidents. On one occasion, while visiting a friend, I stumbled and fell headfirst down twelve steps, landing on a tiled floor. But the Word of God was quick and powerful. Even as I fell I thought, "God knows no accidents; therefore I am not really in an accident."
