SAFETY

In an article which appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, it was stated that automobile makers are planning new safety features based on what is called "packaging the passengers as a means of limiting accident injuries." Such a report is in keeping with the ever-increasing advancement of material science in its endeavor to bring a greater sense of freedom to the human race. Christian Science, however, holds the final answer to the question of safety. In order to experience freedom from accidents, danger, and disease, one needs to understand something of the Principle that protects and keeps mankind safe, just as in mathematics the rules must be known in order to succeed in solving a mathematical equation.

We learn from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that Principle is God, that there is only one God, and that therefore there can be only one Principle, which must be demonstrated according to fixed rules.

These rules emanating from God must be divine rules and can only be understood through spiritual sense. They cannot be arrived at through the so-called mortal mind, but only by our imbibing the spirit of Christ and exchanging the human concepts for the divine. Christian Science is the law of God, or good, and is understood by us as we study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings and put into practice what we learn.
