MAN'S INDIVIDUAL SELFHOOD

Christian Science discloses that man's individual selfhood derived from God, creative Spirit, is spiritual, perfect, and immortal. Because this scientific fact pertains to the true selfhood of all men, the divine demand (Matt. 19:19), "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself," is more clearly understood and effectively applied.

A spiritual appraisal of creation reveals the falsity of the physiological theory that man is a mortal personality, the product of material conception, with its attendant frustrations and limitations manifest in sickness, sin, and lack.

Christ Jesus proved that his individuality embodied and expressed the attributes of God. He consistently manifested the divinely natural qualities of godliness, love, purity, health, and strength. His disciples, each in his individual way, also displayed godliness in varying degrees. Peter evinced courage, forthrightness, strength, and spiritual perception. James manifested loyalty and trustworthiness. John exhibited a deep sense of love, meekness, and an unalterable devotion to Christ, Truth.
