GOD, THE AUTHOR OF LIBERTY

The closing verse of "America," the loved patriotic hymn, includes these prayerful lines:

Our Father's God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.

Christian Science teaches the true nature of liberty, and of greater importance, it gives the recipe by which each individual may progressively demonstrate freedom in his own experience. True liberty is spiritual and not material or mortal. In the measure that one understands the nature of his real freedom as the son of God, physical and mental enslavement is overcome.
